Start with a character, develop them well, and then develop a story around him/her. Books like “Your First Novel” have some really good writing exercises to help you with characters. Usually once I have a few good characters, the story comes pretty naturally.

im glad that u are interested in writing, but maybe (no offense) consider writing about a different topic because i personally think that nothing will ever come to even begin to compare with the twilight series, the god of all books

Read other vampire love stories. Or read some fanfiction. Fanfiction.net is good. Reading other people’s stories and ideas will get the creative juices flowing! That always helps me.

Not to be a bugger, however, I do not think that a vampire love story is the way to go. Only because it’s been done, by Anne Rice. And I didn’t like her books really. I’m certainly not against them but they were bland and very very slow.

If you’re confident in your writing skills, then just write the book.

jot down the premise. where the setting is, the main characters. any creative twists you would like to include. dont worry about it to much. just take a week to write down any ideas you have about it on paper. that way when your ready to write you have pages of ideas

Have one of them start off as a non-vampire and tell there story. Have them have a normal life or what not and then one night have a vampire come through the window hurt. Have the normal one take care of the vampire and they fall in love during that. Then the non-vampire finds out about the vampire being a vampire. I could keep going so if you want to keep talking email me or get a hold of me on here and we can talk.

Don’t make it anything like Twilight. I like the book too, but get your own ideas!
Not saying to not write a vampire love story, but keep the story fresh.
Try NOT starting at the beginning. If you have a certain scene in mind, write that scene. Then, go back and piece together what happened to build up to that scene, and fill in what happens after the scene. Good luck!

perhaps, you should begin your story by describing a romantic place, Paris, Rome or where ever your story takes place. Or open it up with a description of the love interest as the vampire watches him or her. For exp. She was beautiful, her Carmel colored skin always seemed to melt the sun away and bring the stars, something like that.

Try not too think about it too much. The best thing to do is just start writing. Try not to think “I am about to write a love story about vampires.” You will be so focused on making every sentence perfect, you will never get past the first paragraph. The best thing to do is to just start. Look around the room and focus on something random (for example, an open window) then begin describing it. For example: “The lonely window in the spanish villa had been open for fourteen years, as a human had never attempted to close it.” Let your mind wander from that one object and allow a scene to form. If you are still having trouble, it helps to take a walk outside. Make sure you are paying attention to your dreams at night too. Keep a pencil and paper by your bedside incase you come up with something in the middle of the night.
Good Luck

Well you can’t force your self to write. It has to be done in moderation. This is coming from and 11 yr old. Instead of stressing yourself, write short stories on the subject. Then take a break for at least a week, and re-read them all and see which one you like best and take it from there.
I have an idea. A girl working in a musty rundown McDonald’s gets swooped of her feet by a muscular vampire. The vampire shows her new things and makes her fall in love. As all the other vampires before him had, have to bite their prey on the full moon. But he can’t. Because they fell in love. Somehow since he didn’t suck her dry, he loses his vampireness and they live a normal life.
That was from the top of my head. so i don’t care if you use it. I’m writing a novel too. I’m on chapter 2. Wish me luck.

Hi. I write as well, with fantasy/vampires both as recurring inspiration. Here are some tricks I use to head-fake my writer’s block:
*Start writing dialogue. Sometimes I have a spark of an idea, I start writing dialogue and bang–I discover who my characters are and the wheels start turning.
*Ask yourself some questions. Particularly: what is your story about? Every great vamp novel I’ve read is about more than vampires: the burden of immortality, the quest for true love/acceptance, etc.
*And when in dire straights, I reread a great book. I relax, my imagination starts ‘a brewing’ and after a few chapters I’ve usually found a phrase, sentence, or entire paragraph that inspires me. Then I bookmark and start jotting down ideas.
Hope I helped a bit! =)

I experience the same “writers block” when I try to write…just lock yourself in your room with a laptop (or a good ole pencil and paper) and let your thoughts consume you. You will be surprised at how easy it will come without any distractions or noise.
btw-a vampire love story? haha
sorry…just saying…it’s not like it has never been done before

writers block is simply your brain thinking about what to write, just relax, and wait, it will come to you. In the meantime do other things and try to not focus and sit yourself down to hard and say “Okay I WILL figure out something” do some stuff to get your brain thinking about it if you want like music or TV or other inspiration but really all you need to do is wait.
