You cant really stop writer’s block. You can just try to find more inspiration.
I like to use my dreams as inspiration. Sometimes i have the most bizarre dreams and i write them down and put them in to my stories and i keep going from there.
Or you can watch people in the street, think about where they might be going, where are they coming from or who they are that can help you create a character for your story.
I dont know if this will help you, but when it overcomes me, it is usually the result of NOT writing what seems to be “impressing” me at the time. So I’ll write just what I’m thinking, and sometimes it takes on its own direction that I would have never thought of. That is what I like about writing on the computer, it is easy to go back and fill in the gaps, or just erase it when the “true” story comes out. sometimes I’ll get hung up on just a “word”. I’ll just write it down anyway, and when the big picture starts forming, the correct word will come, which sometimes results in a complete re-write, but that is part of the process. Try to remember that it is all a rough draft, the final product is not done, till it is done. good luck! you are not alone. also ‘walking away” from it for a while allows the mind to regenerate. On the horror fiction, hit some art sites, others art inspires me, epilogue.net is a great one!
I would suggest putting yourself in your characters position. What would you do if you were in your characters shoes? Or next time try summarizing your entire plot on paper before you start to write your book or whatever. That’s what i do. Hope this helps.
