Even if it doesn't make sense in your mind, just write it. Don't go back to grammatically correct things, then look at the page and see if you can draw any ideas from that. Either you have something to say or you don't. You many need to check a fact- that's different. That just slows you down. All real writers suffer from the same problem i.e. They would rather vacuum than write. Rather clean out the shed than write. Wash the dog than write. Get on with it. No such thing as writer’s block. I've had the same problem and I can tell you this... put your novel away for a week or two and don't think about it, look at it, or anything related to it. (Such as.. drawing/painting, going for a walk, reading, music, brainstorming ...) You could also make an outline of your entire story. (Chapter One: scene one, two, three ... Chapter Two ...) If you're stuck on the first chapter, then it's probably because you just don't know where you're going.
