-Try freewriting, where you cover up the screen and just write the first thing that springs to mind. Even if it doesn't make sense in your mind, just write it. Don't go back to grammatically correct things, then look at the page and see if you can draw any ideas from that. Might not work for you, but it's worth a try.

-Maybe write a random paragraph of something random, but inject it with loads of description.

-Also, listening to music helps some people, not me, I have to work in complete silence, but you may be different.

-Take a walk and note down anything interesting you see, whether it's relevant to your story or not.

No such thing as writer's block. Either you have something to say or you don't.
You many need to check a fact- that's different. That just slows you down.
All real writers suffer from the same problem i.e. They would rather vacuum than write. Rather clean out the shed than write. Wash the dog than write.
Get on with it.

K.
I've had the same problem and I can tell you this...
put your novel away for a week or two and don't think about it, look at it, or anything related to it. Make a playlist of songs that can relate to your novel.
Good Luck! Try looking on wikipedia.

Do things to jog your creativity.
(Such as.. drawing/painting, going for a walk, reading, music, brainstorming ...)

You could also make an outline of your entire story.
(Chapter One: scene one, two, three ... Chapter Two ...)

If you're stuck on the first chapter, then it's probably because you just don't know where you're going. You might know the ending of the book, but you haven't put much thought in the events inbetween the beginning and end.

Just do some brainstorming.

Good luck.

uh, i kind of have it now too. usually i'll sit back and just imagine the story(what i have so far) in my mind and as i watch this movie in my mind i get ideas of what should happen next. sadly though this doesn't always work. sometimes i just force myself into writing. but that's not good because then you have to go and redo whatever you wrote during your block because it's never as good as the rest. sometimes though you just have to leave it.

answer mine:
