Writers Block?

I have two huge issues that are causing me to have major writer’s block:
1.) I have so many story ideas floating around in my head that I can’t focus on one story to write
and
2.) A lot of my stories need endings or some sort of movement that is just on the tip of my tongue which I need to have before I begin writing so I know where I’m going with the story.

Can anyone PLEASE help me, I absolutely have to write and it’s my passion and this writers block is driving me insane

  1. Maryn Bittner Says:

Start an ideas file. Write down all your ideas as they occur. An idea can be as little as a situation or a character, or as complete as an outline.

Move complete ideas to a separate file. Select the best one (or two, or three) and work on only those.

Plan a whole story–beginning, middle, and end–before you begin writing. You seem to need self-direction rather than writing to see where it takes you, if you routinely lack a satisfying ending. By allowing yourself to work only on stories which you’ve thought through to an ending, you may never be left hanging again.

i am not a writer or anything but when I was in college I would get my ideas and tape or tack them to the wall. I would tape them up where I could see them from the edge of my bed (where ever is comfortable to sit) and just look at them talk it out let your mind relax. having things visual and right in front of you can help and if you need to move things around or put your story in a sequence that will be helpful to you.

My suggestion, and i believe a lot of writers as well, is to write it down.

ideas in the head are just that, ideas. it’s sounds like you don’t have a case of writers block. Writers block means you don’t have ideas. you do.

so I suggest start writing down whatever you have. the natural flow of the story will come to you.

finish the first draft! you will be glad you did and then just come back and reedit it if needed.

    hope this helps!

Ok!! I know how u feel. First, plan all your ideas on a paper. Concentrate on them for about 2 minutes. Start writing without an eraser, that way you will concentrate better on that idea instead of erasing it all!! :) Good Luck!!

An idea to try is writing the same story from someone else’s point of view. Say you have one noble and a slave who are friends for strange reasons. What ideas may not work for the noble may work for the slave.

Tamora Pierce makes her books to switch between characters, each telling part of a story or the same story from their point of view. Anne Mccaffery also does this. Why not give it a try, to help connect ideas?
