“ So” you have writers block, most writers get it from time to time don’t worry about it. Set your work aside for a week or a month or two then come back and read what you got down the ideas will come. I am in a writers block right now I haven’t put down a word in three month. I haven’t even been thinking of the book and when I get some slow time I will take a look at it and I know and idea will come to me.

Writers' what? - I think I have an apartment on that block ... crowded, isn't it.

Get away from the story for a bit and do a bit of background writing ... just go on a tangent. It will let you know more about your character.

I suppose you have your main characters fleshed out (their favourite songs, movies, desserts ...) If not, they may be just 2 dimentional characters.

Draw a map: (This helps me) So if Susan goes by bus from home to school/work, ... how long is the ride? Other people she sees on the way in front of shops, houses, coming out of church(oh, I wonder if Alice has a problem if she went to church?) A map also helps to avoid glitches in your story.

Then I also like to sit at the airport. I see so many different types of people there. The express themselves when they are late, crying as friens come or go ... It is a writer's great source of inspiration.

search through news stories until you find one that inspires you. you dont have to rewrite the story...look for scenes or characters that jump out at you.
look at photography journals for interesting looking settings and character descriptions

This answer is no joke. It can be addicting. Buy a quart of top shelve vodka. Don't rely on this all the time. It will work. Meant to be used once in a great while.

The irony of writer's block is that the only cure for it is to write. Write anything even if you start by writing, "I can't think of anything to write..." Try the NANOWRIMO approach by not bothering with a plot. Just write anything that comes to your head. Plotting will come later.

read "On Writing" by Stephen King.

You won't be able to finish the book, you'll be overcome with inspiration halfway through.

I'm not a writer but when I can't think of things to draw I'll listen to some music, read something creative or even look at others people's work. I suggest you look at deviantart.com Maybe that'll spark some idea's for ya. =)

Ah, you can't force creativity. Just get into the practice of writing things down when that flash of brilliance hits you. Write down your ideas when they interest you the most, then go back and flesh out the ideas when you're stuck.
