Tomorrow is the day after today; it is in the near future. In everyday speech tomorrow speaks not only of a single day but of some era that is not today and has not yet occurred. In popular culture the vision of the abstract tomorrow can be a positive one:

It’s about war, and a semi-apocolyptic setting (the end of the world as the teenagers know it) makes it a sci-fi. You’ll notice the focus on survival and attention to the detail of the war going on. It probably doesn’t quite fit in sci-fi (which a typical example would be star trek), but it fits there just as good as anywhere (its not a romance novel or a proper drama).
