Which English universities are good for creative writing?
I’m planning on doing an English Literature with Creative Writing undergraduate degree course, beginning in 2010. Initially, I just wanted to study English, but recently I’ve decided I would be better suited to English Literature with Creative Writing. Are there any universities that are especially good for English and creative writing? A lot of the universities I had previously been looking at don’t offer the course, and The Times University Guide only offers an English league table. All answers appreciated! (-:

I’m not sure about how prestigious the program is, but I know a girl who is going to Johnson State College in Vermont next year for creative writing. And she’s an excellent writer, so I’d imagine she picked a school that would suit her needs. If you want to look at an extra tough school, I know that my teacher went to Miami University (Ohio, not Florida) and pretty much exclusively focuses on literature (American, but that’s because of the curriculum) and creative writing. You might want to check that out, too.
