When you are reading a really good Science Fiction novel?
When you’re reading an amazing science fiction novel what is your favorite preposition to see pop up? What word that links a noun or pronoun to another word just makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up in the good way?
I really, really like ‘upon.’ God, it just does it for me! What’s your preposition of choice?

Well, I’m currently reading Race Against Time by Piers Anthony.
“Against” really gets me in the mood…kinda kinky, lol.

LOL! I love this question!
Let me think about it… I’ll get back to you.
EDIT: I’ll go with ‘beneath’…I think… Maybe ‘within’.

“Within” is a good one.

I actually really like “beyond.” It seems to have so much depth to it, like it goes deeper than the thing itself…right? Haha…I’m currently re-re-re-re-reading “Ender’s Game,” just because I like it so much.
And no, I don’t have the boring habit of rereading all the books I like. This is actually the only book I have ever reread in my life. Just for the record.

I think for me it’s “beyond.”
One can do so many things with that word. It can be dark and mysterious: “Who knows what lies beyond the dark edges of space?”
Or it can be suspenseful: “Beyond that door Brink knew, waited the man who had killed his family.”
Or simply descriptive: “Brink didn’t know much about ships beyond the fact that they could fly.”
