What’s a good idea for a ’speculative fiction’ short story? (1200-2000 words)?


Hey,
Have any of you got a main idea for a short story? The purpose is to examine and provoke thought about an aspect of modern life (speculative fiction) such as discrimination or obesity. I just need help to get started, it’s quite important. Thank you

    Write about a kid growing up in neo-Nazi household and slowly opening his mind to other viewpoints when he starts sneaking around with regular people behind his parents’ backs.
