What is my closest writters group here in LA? Creative writing group?
Hey!
I just moved to LA. I know there are a lot of writers in my area but I would like to find a small writing group in my age range, 30s. I live close to Hollywood and Highland areas.
Nothing like a good group to get critique and feedback in a group.
Any good info would be appreciated it. I would definitely call the Writers guild but they provide information on big groups or well established groups.

You’re right, there are a ton!!!
I would suggest looking on Craigslist, or even posting your own message.
The LA Times book festival always has a bunch of booths from different writing groups, but that’s not until April.
Otherwise it’s all about networking. Find one through friends, or start your own!
More thoughts:
I think there is a Border’s by the Arclight (not far from you), you could ask there.
Also, if and when you decide to meet with managers, agents, etc, talk to the assistants and interns. Chances are they read your work first and more in depth, and most of them are aspiring writers or agents.
