Juvenile non-fiction are books for kids about real-life things, without a fake story at its center. Juvenile non-fiction books are about nature, birds, the earth, science, how things work. Sometimes they are simplistic historical books…

As an example, I had a series called “If you lived in…” and there was one about colonial times, one about medieval times, and one about living during the great depression. I also had books about historical figures like Betsy Ross, Paul Revere, Benjamin Franklin.

I remember another book I had that was all about bacteria, and it showed crazy microscopic images of bacteria.

So yeah, anything that’s real or educational, without a made-up story at its core, is non-fiction.

There was one I had about how to dig to the center of the earth. It was educational, since it talked about all the different layers of the earth, but it’s considered fiction because it’s a story about a boy who digs and digs and uses made-up machinery to get to the center of the earth. Even though that’s the real layers of the earth and it’s teaching real science, it’s using a fake story of the boy, so it’s fictional.

    Hope that helps!

Books that were written specifically for young readers that deal with a true subject matter. (real things, people, events, and places)

You can Google Juvenile Non-fiction and get many results.
