What is a good sized chapter for fan fiction?
I was wondering if I am making my chapters too short for a fanfiction I’m writing. They average to about 1500-2000 words. Is that long enough? Or should I make them longer?

I imagine it’s the same as any other book or story.
Chapters can be a word or an entire novel in length. It has to do with scene and how you want to break things up.
1500-2000 is as good as any, but don’t consciously pace yourself to that for chapters, just go with what’s natural. Some scenes will be longer than others.

I don’t know how many words it equals, but readers tend to like chapters 7 pages and up. The longer it takes to update the longer they’d like the chapters. What are you writing about?

A lot of writers run between 2000 and 3000 words. It’s short, easy to read and easy to update regularly.
On the other hand, Some of the best fanfic writer, people like Bobmin, Ruskbyte and Chem Prof don’t worry about any length. Some of their things run under 2000 words and others go over 40,000.
What it comes down to, is what you want to do. Your scenes are part of your style and if it suits you to write short chapters, do it. If a scene jumps from 2000 words to 10,000, so what?
