Hi, you might want to try my own recently published book, entitled "The Tales of Tanglewood: The Lon Dubh Whistle".

You can download the first three chapters for free, at

Within the pages of the book, readers will discover Colin, a child who is fully aware of the hidden world of myth and wonder hiding within the woods just beyond his home, long kept secret by old magic. Only the fey magic which runs through his veins has enabled Colin to find what others cannot; the Tanglewood, the 'wood within the woods.

Full of odd characters and creatures of the fey, the Tanglewood is a world of magnificent folklore come to life. As Colin begins to explore the Tanglewood, he will find friendship with the ferrish Ailfrid, the elfin girl Deidre, and Doc Muffingrow, a wise druid.

Colin will also find that there is much magic in himself, as well as dangerous enemies who will not let him find solace in the wood so easily. Ailil, King of the Sprites and ruler of The Below, has laid claim to his spirit, and Colin will need the help of his friends and quite a bit of magic to save himself.

The Tanglewood is a place like no other, and Colin is a boy like no other. Throughout his adventures, he will uncover the secret of the fey blood within him, and help dispel the poisonous corruption and hidden dangers that threaten the inhabitants of the wood and the Tanglewood itself.

please listen to me: you absolutely have to read these books, i love them so much and they complete my life, lol
"a great and terrible beauty"
"rebel angels"
"the sweet far thing"
these books are so... different, the idea for them is so original... and the author cuts to the chase right away, she doens't make you go through 50 pages until you really get anywhere...
it's in 1890's england... this girl: Gemma Doyle, is an english 16 year old girl living in india with her mother. she wants to go to finishing school in london, but her mother won't let her.
then all of a sudden, 2 indian men come up to her mother and say:
"Circe is near" her mother gets panicked, and tells gemma to walk to the house right away
her and her mom get into a fight, and gemma abandones her mother in the indian streets and runs off
gemma has a vision: one of the indian men and her mother go into this store, inside the store, there is a big snake, it kills the man, and before it can kill gemma's mom, she commits suicide...
gemma gets scared and runs to find her mother, only to realize that her vision is true.
the other indian man that isn't dead, tries to get her to tell him what she saw, but she runs away from him, and 2 months later, she finds herself going to spence academy for young ladies
there she finds herself in between the most powerful girls at the school, and finds out about her mother and her inclusion in a secret society within the walls of the school called the "order"
she takes her friends into a magical place called the "realms"
there she realizes that her mother is not really dead, just ceases to exist as we know her.
and what's worse is that the indian man is following her, warning her to close her mind against the visions.
and... her mother's old school friend, Sarah Rees-Toome, is out to find Gemma and kill her, to take the power of the realms from Gemma.
they call her Circe.
then you'll find out in the second book that you shouldn't trust what you can't see. or what you think you see.
definitions:
order- a secret society of powerful women who used to have all power over the realms
rakshana- a secret society of men who used to once share the power with the order until the order banished them from the realms. they plot to steal the power from gemma and the order.

it sounds weird and lame, but these books are so interesting, and they just sweep you away.
it's filled with romancce, lies, deception, loss, coping...
it's sooo good!! i love these books!!!
remember that no one is who you think they are.

For a bit more mature read, I'd recommend the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I found Wizard's First Rule to be an enjoyable novel, albeit a very long one. Look into it.

I'd recommend the Pendragon Series by D.J.Machale.. it has some romance, and it's kind of a fantasy/adventure series. It's a good series for girls and guys.. probably, for like 7th grade up. Good series for teens.

If you're a Stephenie Meyer fan( or even if you aren't :) ) I'd recommend The Host by Stephenie Meyer. It's got a different feel than Twilight, but once you get past the first 200 pages or so, it is AMAZING. Lots of romance, but there are other components to the plot too, so it's not necessarily a romance novel per say either. :)

Uhm....can't think of anything else right now, hope I helped a little :)
