What do you think of this poem to celebrate our one year anniversary?
I wrote this poem for my husband, to celebrate our one year anniversary that’s coming up. I know it’s nothing spectacular but it does come from my heart. What do you think? A little background, I told my husband I was going to write him a poem and he said “make it from the heart.” LOL. That explains the first line.
You say you want it from the heart
Yet you know as well as I
That you have my heart within your grasp
And that you can’t deny.
You see my heart is in your hands,
Just open up and see
I gave it to you a year ago,
And you gave yours to me.
I am so much a part of you
That I feel we intertwine.
And it’s difficult to explain to you
What mere words cannot define.
I feel you in every part of me
Down to my very soul.
You’re in the very heart of me
You’re the part that makes me whole.

This is very very good. He will be touched. Do you have a card shop where you could print this card for him! I feel sort of bad that I read something with such special meaning not intended for my eyes. Happy Anniversary! Keep this copy for yourself. Hide it and three years, seven years, and ten years from now take it out and read it. You are off to a great start.

Very good…You might change just this one part.
“You see my heart is in your hands,
Just open up and see”, change to “You KNOW my heart is in your hands, just open up and see” …so it doesn’t repeat the word “see”.
But seriously girl…very good!!

For a first anniversary, it is good.
For a 20th anniversary it would still be good.
The cadence is a little off, but it still gets the point across nicely. I’ll give you a good job on that one.
Happy Anniversary, and I hope you have more than me. I had 34 with one woman and am about to have 5 with the second. First one has gone on to make a spot for when I get there. She said it must be getting crowded up there.

Read it to him. He’ll never forget it.
