what book is this medical thriller?
i read a fiction book a couple of years ago and stupidly didn’t note the author or title: roughly, it’s about a kind of risky experimental surgery (maybe brain??) and research, to do with some substance, the name of which was an acronym of 3 letters (i think)… the main character is a guy, and at one stage his girlfriend is shot by a rival while they’re on a boat, and he ends up having to operate on her…it’s a long book, probably 400+ pages…anyone any idea what it is?
not by robin cook.

Featuring again Dr. Laurie Montgomerry and Jack Stapleton (both were in Contagion and Chromosome 6), this book has not the usual quality I see in Cook,s works. Didnt like it much. Just an Okay reading. For the ones who are already used to read the author. …
