What are those get-togethers called when ***?ople listen to poets reciting their poetry?
I’m doing a project on The Beat Generation and i need a picture of what this poetry meeting thing is and it would help if i knew what it was called…help me out please!

They can be called Poetry slams, jams, readings, night, clubs, amateur nights, it all depends on the host of the meeting. Whatever they ****?t to call it.

It depends on the part of the country you are in. They are commonly called among poets ***? “Open Mike Nite” ***? in microphone.

just a poetry reading i would think. a slam is more like rap lyrics being read right?
