what are some short stories portraying the role of children?
I need to write my paper on the role of children in short stories. All i have is my college textbook of short stories. The stories can be from any country and i need some where children play the role of protagonist, antagonist, and support character.

L Frank Baum wrote a lot of short stories about OZ as well as the original novel - most have children playing the main roles - examples Little Wizard Stories of Oz, and Queer Visitors from the Marvelous Land of Oz.
Many of his other short stories are also child based

Much of Dickens’ work employs children. “A Christmas Carol” is one example. Children are used to portray a contrast to the adults; either wonderment, innocence, unshakable trust or love or coming of age. Think of stories that used these themes; Stephen King’s “It”, “The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon” and “Stand By Me” are a few of his notables. Also check out stories whose readers are children; “Harry Potter” stands out in my mind.
