I really like suspenseful ****?ks that Clair Poulson and Lurlene McDaniel write, so check them out. I enjoy reading historical fiction ****?ks and can give you lots of suggestions! Here are some really ****?d ones:
“A ***?me of Angels” by Karen Hesse: It’s about a girl trying to live through the big influenza epidemic during World War I.
“Earthquake at Dawn” by Kristiana Gregory: It’s about the big 1906 quake in California and the characters have to work together to get through it.
“In my *****?y’s House” by Carol Matas: It’s about a girl during ******.s ***?me and she has to learn to be strong to survive.
“Fever 1793″ by Laurie Halse Anderson: It’s about a sixteen-year-old girl who has to work extra hard in order to survive the yellow fever epidemic.
“Running out of ***?me” by Margaret ***?terson Haddix: It’s about a young girl who believes the year is 1840, ****? learns that she pretty much lives in a real-live museum exhibit and must get out to save her ***?mily.

Try Anya ***?ton. Classical historical romance writer. Philippa Gregory is actually a big ***?n of hers. Her best, and most ***?mous, ****?k is Katherine, ****? she’s written a lot of other great stuff.
I’d also recommend Dark Angels, by Karleen Koen, ***? another ****?d historical romance.
I also really like Sharon Kay ***?nman’s Welsh trilogy, beginning with Here Be Dragons, although this incorporates more of the political and social ***?pects of the ***?mes than the others do.
