What are some good science fiction or fantasy books?
I like books that feature strange things happening to normal people (Not books based solely on fantsasy lands or different species.) I enjoy books where normal (or at least they think they are normal) people go on journeys or go through odd science fiction happenings.
Any suggestions?

Pendragon sounds good for you. it doesn’t specifically meet your criteria, but I really like Isaac Asimov’s books, you should look at them.

That pretty much describes most of Dean Koont’s books

Try Old Magic by Marianne Curley, but not if you don’t like romance. Well, it’s not completely based off of romance, but still.
Also, Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer. Definitely don’t pick up if you don’t like romance, because these are mainly romance. That’s all I have with “normal people.”

The future histories of Robert Heinlein will please you. Start with the anthology Past Through Tomorrow.

Ender’s Game somewhat falls into this category. Also, try Stephen King’s books; The Stand and The Dark Tower series are some of the good ones.
