What are some good ironic short stories?
I need some good ironic short stories or stories with a twist, that can be possibly turned into a play. If it was humorous that would be even better!
Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Thnx!

Monkey’s Paw, it’s creepy but good, loaded with irony.

O. Henry is the king of ironic short stories. I love “After Twenty Years” and “Heart of the West.” But for funny, “The Ransom of Red Chief” is a good bet.
Edgar Allen Poe is also incredible as well as ironic. Try “The Cask of Amontillado” if you like irony. There is a play of that one (along with a lot of his other works, which I also suggest reading or watching plays of).
Roald Dahl also did some iron stuff as well. Like “Lamb to the Slaughter” or “The Landlady.” “The Landlady” is more creepy than ironic, but oh well.
