What are some good fiction books, with a great plot and colorful words?
I love reading, but I don’t know what books to buy. I like fantasy based stories, royalty, adventure. I hate horror stories and anything to do with killing others or self. I also want to increase my vocabulary too.
Suggestions?

try “the mists of avalon” by marion zimmer bradley. my favorite book ever. very well written, and it’s got a little bit of fantasy, some history, royalty, love stories…
and when you’re done there are several more books in the series.

First if you have not done so read the Harry Potter series. It is not just for kids. And the books get much harder after the third one that I can’t see how kids can read them. You don’t get much better plotting than this and very creative. It is written on many levels. The kids will see some things and adults others, and if you look very, very close you will find there are hidden symbols there that tell a hidden story too. I don’t normally read fiction, but I tell you if you don’t read this series you will really be missing something.

You might try Jane Lindskold’s “Wolf” series, it is really a good read. Or anything by Dennis McKiernan, although I like his duology INTO THE FORGE and INTO THE FIRE a lot. Has everything you are looking for in a book or books. Both authors write great fantasy. Enjoy!
