What are some good Christian fiction books for teens?

Also, what is a good Bible for teens? I have the first Revolve Biblezine but I want something that has the Old and New Testaments.

There are tons of great books out there for people of all ages and they don’t have to be christian specific. Too Kill a Mockingbird is one that no teen should miss reading.

I recently picked up “The Secret” by Barb Huff for my daughter. I wasn’t sure what she would think. She reads a variety of material, but I, being a concerned mother wanting her to not venture from her faith, prefer her to read Christian fiction. When she was done reading it, about an hour later, she asked me to buy her more. She really liked it. Yeah! Also, I’m not sure if you’re talking girl teen or boy teen, buy my daughter (14) has the “true images” bible for teen girls. I see lots of markings in her bible and she keeps it in her top drawer of her night stand. Hopefully this helps.

ps. she also likes reading Dee Henderson books. Read the jackets and see if they would be appropriate for your son/daughter.

CS Lewis is pretty good, some teens really like The Screwtape Letters.

G.K. Chesterton’s novels might be alright for sharper teenagers.

There are several different student or teen bibles available in most of the translations. Be it “extreme teen” or “student life application” or “macarthur student bible” or whatever. I would recommend going to your local christian store (I LOVE Mardel.) Or searching online at christianbook.com You can organize them online by different criteria. So you can probably sort them into teen/student and find what you’re looking for. Also Amazon sometimes has incredible prices on bibles.

As far as Christian fiction for teens….there really wasn’t such a thing when I was a teen. I read ‘clean’ historical fiction like Eugenia Price and Grace Livingston Hill and the Sunfire Romance series of the 80s and early 90s. Janette Oke books as well. L.M. Montgomery. And I LOVED reading Frank Peretti books (Visitation, Oath, Prophet, Piercing the Darkness, This Present Darkness). I believe he has since written books for young adults but I haven’t read them. But you might want to see if they’re what you’re looking for. Again christianbook.com will give you options with fiction as well.

If you can get to a Christian bookstore such as Family Christain Store or any Parable store, there are lots of series for Christian girls. Focus on the Family has a series that my daughter read a few years ago (she is in college now.) She also liked the Melodie Carlson series called “Diary of a Teenage Girl,” and the Christy Miller series. Of course, Narnia is always good. If you don’t live near a Christain bookstore try.
A good Bible to read is The Message.
A good Bible to study is the Youth Study Bible, the NKJ Extreme Teen Bible, NIV Teen Study Bible

I usually just use an NIV Bible, so I really couldn’t say about that. As for books… Lurlene McDaniel books aren’t explicitly Christian in the stories, but she is under a Christian publisher and the stories are very clean and absolutely fantastic. The Veritas Project books by Frank Peretti are excellent, also. (Any kind of Frank Peretti stuff is generally good for teens, as long as you don’t scare easily.) House, by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker is GREAT.

My 16 year old teen likes Frank Peretti books
C S Lewis books, and even some of the Sugar Creek Gang books (for younger teens)…most of these are “guy” books.
