;Young Adult
I’ve just finished a novel and am preparing to send it to a lit agent. But I don’t know what genre of fiction it falls under. I know genres that it could fall under: young adult/juvenile, commercial, action/adventure, humor/satire…?
Here’s the story at the most basic level:
A teenage boy becomes a superhero in the modern world, facing problems that we see in the real world.
There are only 3 teen characters and the rest are adults (and one kid) that work in like, the CIA and the media, etc. There are several jokes in the story, some w/ a point and others just for fun.
I would like to aim for a broad audience, though. - frarg

Light novels are the Japanese equivalent of a young adult aimed book. My question pertains to how many pages it normal is and whether it is in 1st or 3rd person.

I’m looking for some good Young adult historical fiction for a teen girl.
Nothing that takes place in America, unless it’s Alaska or something. Those kinds of books have been said and done.
I really love books that take place a long, long time ago. Medevial times and such. Romances are a plus but are not necessary. Thanks! - La Fille

I keep seeing this when agents list their interests. For example: “Literary and commercial fiction, historical fiction, women’s fiction, thrillers, mysteryies, young adult…”
Would that mean any fiction? Would literary and commercial fiction by chance mean fantasy or sci fi? - ??????????

I’m in search of a publisher–mostly fantasy, but science fiction might help–and even with Writer’s Market, I’m having trouble finding a good one that accepts novels over 120,000 words long and don’t need agents. Please help me! - Madysen
