Questions

HAVE 14 pages, writing a screenplay is hard as there so may rules and things you can and cant do!

I am currently writing a fiction novel, and have about a third finished. Also, I have found myself writing a screenplay. I walk around with multiple storylines in my head, but cant ever seem to get them down on paper. I am not a professional writer obviously, and have to hold down a job, but when I do get on the PC, I find myself distracted and cant get the writing underway. Any help or advice from aspiring novelists out there? Thanks.

I have a story idea which I *think* I want to take final form as a film. Is it generally a good idea to write stories as short stories first, and then convert them–or should I dive right into the play?

I’ve written some stories, a lot of poems and essays, and 4 pages of a screenplay. I enjoyed righting the screenplay but couldn’t finish it because it was someone else’s story and I couldn’t get into it.

I’d love to know what you guys normally do in this situation.
