Particularly ones involving nurses. can be english, american, etc., novels or online writings. Think Pearl Harbor, Atonement, English Patient type of stuff. I am a sucker for this kind of romance but I am unable to find anything online or in bookstores just searching on my own.

I know about the war, but I am fascinated at the people who were left home ( wives, children, friends, school mates, etc) I want a story that shows how they felt, how they coped, and how things changed when everyone left to fight.
I need a book about a world war for school and don’t want to read the typical fighting and battles book……
