I’m at the moment developing and writing a post-world war two alternate history story and I want to know what the risks are in terms of what themes/references that might be offensive to certain those? If there is any I should know I can therefore have them removed from my story.

I am taking a class on world civilization and have to read a non-fiction book and then write a review on it. I need some suggestions for what book I should read. You must know that I do not like history!! With that said, I am looking for a book that is interesting and not written for a historian. It has to be on world history, I would prefer to read about World War II. Anyone have any suggestions?
