Mainly details (or brief overview of) life, culture/mannerisms/dress, and architecture during medieval France (up through a little later is great also). Both villager/middle-class and wealthy lifestyles. (This will be used to help with the setting of my NaNoWriMo.) Thanks in advance! - Phantom

I am looking for a few links to different sites for science fiction book titles, I like the Star Svensdotter series by Dana Stabenow (only 3 books) I guess Its a mix of Sci-fi and murder mystery. Any one that can help me with a titles and sites that would be great, and just murder mysteries would be good The Kay Scarpetta books, Chyna Bales, Anna Pigeon are all good ones and an idea of what I’m looking for. I understand that some novelists use outlines and some just go with the flow, and the beauty of novel writing is that there is no right or wrong way how to write a novel. But I am curious about three things for those of you that have written a novel before. How did you make sure or estimate that what you planned to write would turn into a full-length novel? I have already outlined my story I have 20-25 basic scene cards, I plan to write something in between the scenes that I have already planned, but I fear that I will write the whole story and only come up with 10,000 words or so. And how do you write/divide the book into chapters? When I think of my story I don’t really think in chapters. And what is your method on how to create characters that your readers will love and/or care about and are believable?
Thanks in advance! - Carrie Sutherland

Please give me some details or a plot and some action about a studious college student. Maybe his background (parents, siblings, race, friends) or just his personality. My paper doesn’t have to be long, only about 2 pages but I just need a jump start. The story has to be happy and light and airy, and not somber. Thanks in advance! - Natalie

I have writers block.

I haven’t written any lyrics in a while. I have, I guess, an extreme case of writers block. I wrote a short cross poem, but that’s about it. I can’t write a paragraph; all my creativity is gone, sadly. Can someone give me a line, or an idea to get me started. I’m afraid that I’m a lost case, that even though I love writing and drawing that I’m going to lose my talent, and fall into a black and white world. Thanks in advance.
Cross Poem might not be the right term….

thanks everyone! and the poem can be about anything. - Sky C

I have to write a research paper for my lit class on a short story. I tend to love witty, cynical humor and was wondering if anyone knows of any great satirical authors that write short stories. Thanks in advance! - Where’s the Beef!?

So I’m writing a story about a man who was buried alive in the ground.
He wakes up and doesn’t realize where he is, then it all sort of comes
rushing to his brain as to what his surroundings are.
What are some vocabulary words I can use to explain what
he is feeling?
Suffocated, deranged, smothered, trapped.
What else? Thanks in advance! - Lara

I figured I would start with an outline of how the book is going to go. It is a murder mystery book btw. I also figured I would make a list of the characters and jot down things about them like looks, personality, and so on. If anyone has any ideas on where/how to start this process I would be forever grateful. Thanks in advance. - myraxellenxamos
