i understand that the story takes place in the future and is based on an underground city, which makes it sci-fi. But are there any other reasons? and how is it an example of fantasy? thankss! (:

I read this short story in middle school and need help finding out the title. The story takes place in a dystopic society. Everyone is made equal. Beauty is shunned upon. There is a ballet couple. They dance in front of millions on the T.V. They are forced to wear masks to hide their beauty. They dance but with restriction. Later in the dance they break away from the rules of keeping their dance from being too expressive.

They both get shot down in the end for dancing freely.

What is the title of this short story?? please help!

I’ve been writing for about a month now, but I haven’t figured out how to start the story. I need something that hooks the reader, and that gives background on my character’s past, while still being believable.

(Note: The story takes place in a different ‘world’, in the medieval times, and my main character has had a rather tortured past.)

And I really don’t want anyone replying with “Start at the beginning”. =)
