The Matrix series is the worst offender but it seems lately that religion is making inroads in all science fiction, which used to glorify science and the human spirit.

I’d like to know if there are any sites out there to read stories from the general public. No fan fiction.

Do you think in time will will concur space and be it a little cliche go where no man has gone before into the galaxies and worlds beyond.

Do you thing shows like Star Trek, Star Gate and other Space traveling TV shows (maybe minus the weird and wonderful aliens - Or maybe not??) will ever be a part of our lives in reality. Or is it just hopeful thinking.

NB. I know there is a problem with fuel and distance and not being able to carry enough fuel to travel very far.

Do some parents ban science fiction from their children? Why?

Apart from it’s fantasy elements, it is wholly based in the real world. There is no space travel to other planets, no aliens, no galaxies far far away. Can it be classed as science fiction?

I have already read all the Harry Potter books. All of the The lord of the rings books and I have read Eragon and Eldest by Christopher Paolini.

what is the name of a children’s science fiction chapter book about a young boy/girl who is friends with a talking bird (parrot?). They travel to a distant planet and either save that planet or escape from it somehow. The words Time and dream come to mind.

I know that very technical stories like one of Jules Verne’s are science fiction, but what about stories of werewolves, etc. or stories of fictional worlds?

Does this count as science fiction? Does it count as fantasy fiction? Is fantasy fiction a subgroup of science fiction?

I have my doubts as to whether this will ever happen due to the mass theories, and the energy required to even attempt such a feat. What is your opinion, and do you have theories as to how this might be achieved? I like Science Fiction, etc., but I just don’t think it will ever happen.
