What story should I do for NaNoWriMo?

Ideas (with the random titles I came up with…):
Rory – girl whose life has slowly been falling apart is starting to notice weird things happening. Discovers over time that she has been born with time-altering abilities. I have the background of the story almost completely fleshed out, but the characters are iffy and so is the actual plot.
Rossy – oddball boy goes on a journey of self-discovery and helps the people around him do the same. Very coming-of-age type story, going to be extremely sad. I have the plot sketched out, but the characters are iffy.
Delusions of the Naked Mind – another coming-of-age type story, with the idea that there’s a school out that’s…boarding school/mental institution/juvenile hall. It’s where parents send their depressed and misbehaving kids when they’re not insane and haven’t committed a serious crime. I have the characters, but the plot is iffy and I kinda wanna hold out to write this when I have more teenage experience to draw off of.
Black Parade Based – inspired by the album “The Black Parade”, this is one of those very morbid, doomed-from-the-beginning story ideas centering mostly around relationships and death. I have the characters and plot, but not much life experience, and it may be too short.

I need to decide this quickly so I have time to flesh the idea out.
So. Opinions?

(oh by the way, this is totally mine; steal the ideas, you pay. >.<

Is my book going to be banned and shunned?

-ehem-. Still recovering from NaNoWriMo, I am. But, let’s say, in a world where I miraculously get published, will my book be banned, shunned, and then studied in school twenty years later? It is a young adult novel.

It’s about a sixteen year old boy who’s been badly abused by his father, and is rescued by a classmate. It’s really quite sad and heartbreaking.

The catch is, no one seems to know his real name, so they all call him Stoner Boy. Eventually you find out the ‘reason’ he was being abused is because he’s gay.

So…yeah. Is my book going to be banned and shunned and then studied in schools twenty years later?

And if anyone wants to read it, I shall be much obliged. Especially if you offer to edit it. -hinthint- Ehem. Right. Answer away, cheerio.
Oh, and its title is ‘Damage Control’.
Yaaay people willing to editify joy and happiness.

Is there something wrong with depressing poetry?

I write poetry… And the poems I write are depressing. My life isn’t sad or depressing or anything but what I write is just what comes out. My friend hates my poetry and tells my it’s stupid and too depressing and then gets all suspicious. I hear it somewhat normal for teens to write poetry like mine but my friend doesn’t agree.

Every time I read war poetry I start to cry and grow mournful Why?

Hey. Every time I read war poetry, especially war poetry involving soldier’s dying and touching war poetry, I begin to get very sad and mournful. I then start to cry.
But, I have a few family members that have served in the military before, but none that were actually K.I.A. or killed or anything. And, they’ve retired, so their not on active duty.
Why is this? Why do I cry and grow sad every time I read any kind of war poetry?
