Questions

I’ve read the following, and i would really like to know some new titles or authors. I’m really into YA books with romance so there must be some of it involve. Nothing gooey but just some.

I’ve read:

The Twilight Series
All of Sarah Dessen’s books
Sloppy Firsts (All the series)
Most of Tamara Pierce’s books
all of scott westerfeld’s books
Valiant
Tithe

I am talking about serious fiction writing (no particular subgenre) that feature mostly writing majors/new fiction authors and not sleazy, amateurish fiction websites.

I’ve tried zoetrope.com, however in order to enter their contest you have to pay them.

I am trying to get a book that I have written published and i am coming up to the same barrier of publishers not accepting unsolicited manuscripts, how am i supposed to be given a chance? Was wondering if anyone can help and provide a list of publishers (pref in UK) who DO accept unsolicited manuscripts or new authors?? My book is fantasy/adventure fiction for older children or adults (sort of Harry Potter style)
Please help I would be so grateful as I have worked so hard

I love love love James Micheners books. But alas I need to lay those books down and discover other historcial fiction authors. Please help me find new authors that mix historical information throughout their fictional accounts as Michener did.
