I see love poems posted here all the time, and I wonder well if you shared it, how did that work out for you? Please share the poem and the results (if you like).

Here’s my first love poem ever that I gave to the woman who became my wife (so it worked out for me). I know it isn’t that long, but I wasn’t used to writing love poetry.

Dark Waters

In the feeling, there is the risk
that we might feel.
To slip beyond touch, the light
caress, to drown in dark waters
beyond knowing

Where words become redundancies.
Where thoughts slow…slow…
Stop.

In the stillness of the moment there is peace.
As the waves retreat,
carrying us beyond our shores.

I love Billy Collins’ poetry and would love to hear him read some live. I saw a video recently, and he looks fairly old. I want to see him before he passes. Any ideas?

I want to know what kind of poetry people like (i.e. love poetry, hate poetry, emo poetry, descriptive poetry) so that I know what to write to make people like my poetry. I know I have talent…I just write a lot about love. So what do you like?

I really really love poetry, and I also love writing. The problem is that I find poetry difficult to write. Some people are so good at it, its amazing. I know that poetry is one of those things that comes from within you, and that its hard to tell someone “how” to do it, but I was hoping that some people here could give me some tips on how to get started writing for fun. I never know what to write about. But my biggest problem is that I don’t understand how poets use literary devices so well, its amazing! Any tips would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!

I have had this gift for as long as i can remember but just recently started putting more time into it. i write from my feelings and I think I do ok. But I want to make extra money by doing it. They always say find you passion and turn it into a monwy making venture. Any ideas??? Im tored of living from paycheck to paycheck

i never used to write poems..last year i started writing for sum reason, now im good at it…why?..what does it take to write poems all of a sudden…is it emotions?…and my frens want to nkow how i do it and they love my poetry and always ask how i do it cause they r really good…do you need to hav some sort of different emotions or b emotional when all of a suden writing poetry..it sdhard to explain but i wud have never thot i cud write
