I write mostly young adult genre fiction and I’m trying to get a manuscript published. I’ve tried a lot of agents that are reputable already. I heard that agents who have just gotten into the business are eager for new authors, so I ****?t to know how can I find them? Is there a website or a newsletter I can sign up for that gets articles about new legit agents?

I’m planning on doing an English Literature with Creative Writing undergraduate degree course, beginning in 2010. Initially, I just wanted to study English, but recently I’ve decided I would be better suited to English Literature with Creative Writing. Are there any universities that are especially good for English and creative writing? A lot of the universities I had previously been looking at don’t offer the course, and The Times University Guide only offers an English league table. All answers appreciated! (-:

I have to do a project where I read a short story from either Hemingway or Steinbeck. In this project I have to teach a discussion to my class. What stories are enjoyable? I’ve read a lot of stories from Hemingway, including most of the Nick Adams stories and the African stories, for Steinbeck I have read “The Red Pony”.

I love graphic novels, but I have a lot of ideas for a collection of graphic short stories. What are some good examples of it? I want to get an idea of the format, layout and that type of thing.

The only criteria is:
-A fiction book with a historical setting
-It has to be set at least one hundred years ago
-It has to be finished by 5/1.
Any suggestions?
It is recommended for like 5th graders, and I’m in 9th grade Advanced English… please make it a lot more challenging.

It can be Fiction or Nonfiction, as long as the setting is a real place and the time is in the past. The book has to be at least 300 pages long. If it’s a lot more pages than that, im fine. I’m a total bookworm.

okay, well I’m currently working on a book and I have it all planned out in my head. the thing is that i don’t know how to start it off!!!! it’s kind of like writers block but not really. I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem or how to cure it. Its in first person point of view, and it would help a lot if u told me whether i should have the story begin at school for the characters or somewhere else. Sorry if this is a confusing question!!

I have a story in mind, and I’ve already started writing. The characters are developed (As developed as they could be without me writing a lot about them), and the general mood of the story and plot is laid out.
But I need more. I need ideas for scenes and what to do with my characters and smaller plot lines for different parts.
How do you get over writers block?
How do you come up with scenes and ideas to fill the over all plot?
What do you use as inspiration?
What tips do you have for me?

I’ve seen a lot of science fiction movie from the black & white ones to newer ones and the meteors seem to be glowing when someone finds one after a meteor shower, i figure the glowing might be from entering the atmosphere but why do they glow green?
