Questions

I really admire people who use the technique of defamiliarization well. I find it really funny.

For example, I once called my friend who lives 600 miles away, and he said that he was busy at the moment, but that he’d call me back in an hour so we could ‘go for coffee.’ (Meaning, talk on the phone, lol.)

Are there some exercises I can do to use this technique more creatively?

My brother really needs one for a report and I thought I would be the star in the family and come through. He likes baseball just like me and if there is a historical fiction book about baseball he would love it. Please help me get on my bro’s good side lol.

I am just curious that I haven’t seen any that are geared toward that form of writing and like to know if there are any out there.

Please try not to give me some generic answer like I don’t know, or why don’t you go and read some fantasy for yourself. I wouldn’t be asking if I hadn’t.
Marishka: Ooooh that is a good idea. Unfortunetly my brain has been a bit bland lately and in a literal phase. If I don’t find too many sci-fi/Fantasy promps I may just have to start my own prompts website myself. lol

It’s a juvenile fiction book about a teenage girl who is abused by her father and her mother won’t stand up for her. She winds up pregnant (I don’t think by the father, just a boyfriend or something) and runs away. She moves to another town and either stays at a hotel or a home for unwed mothers, I can’t remember. She gets a job working at a restaurant, where the owner of the restaurant is obsessed with the color red! lol She becomes close friends with the owner, as well as her so-workers. I know this sounds stupid but it was like a favorite book of mine when I was a pre-teen, I just don’t remember the name! I have a feeling I’m not gonna get the answer, but I thought I’d try anyways. Thanks guys!!

I know that most fan fiction sucks, but I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good ones, preferably fan fiction for A Clockwork Orange… either fan fiction that’s so bad that it’s funny, or genuinely good fan fiction. Either works.
But… I already know about fanfiction.net… Darn, if I can’t find any fanfiction for ACO I might have to write some myself… but I really need to finish my novel first…. gahh.
I almost never read hetero fanfiction, lol… though it’s hard to imagine that there’s any ACO slash out there… (what would it be of, Alex and Mr.Deltoid? EWWW)

I already looked on LJ and FF.net…. no luck.

haha im writing fanfic and i already have writers block..i have a pretty good idea of what its gonna be about…but i just cant get the story started…im not asking you to tell me what to write…but the begining was gonna be like showing the results of a contest…but idk how i can get inspired haha
i cant really read the book haha cause its about tokio hotel…and im writing it one quizilla.com so i have to write it in chapters…so i cant do it out of order =(

I wrote this poem for my husband, to celebrate our one year anniversary that’s coming up. I know it’s nothing spectacular but it does come from my heart. What do you think? A little background, I told my husband I was going to write him a poem and he said “make it from the heart.” LOL. That explains the first line.

Making a new character in this game called Cabal and i want it to mean Crazy or something like that. Somewhat sounding like Insanity.

What colleges would you say are the best for the creative writer… preferably 4 year colleges or art schools. I dont have the grades or stats to get into an ivy league lol… so dont even bother listing schools like that… I know they’re good but they’re not what i’m looking for… I’m considering Georgia College and State University b/c they’re the only college in Georgia that has a creative writing major… and thats where I live… what other schools do you recommend?
