Innovative Introduction – Profile And Success Story

Hello everyone!! It’s indeed a great pleasure to talk to you all through this excellent tool.

I thought that instead of introducing myself and sharing my success story, I shall do something different by narrating a short story of a princess which has both of above:

Once upon a time, God was scratching His brains coz He felt monotonous in His creations and had too much work load. He thought and thought and one day had a great idea! He decided to create a Heaven on Earth; there He placed Daddy Angel and Mummy Angel. One year later, the angels were blessed with a Prince. They were all very happy together and God was atleast a bit relaxed coz the Angels made World a better place, took good care of their problems and their Angel prince. God decided to promote them for their consistency in doing a good job and 10 years later, the Angels were blessed with another baby princess. The Angels loved her too dearly. Her elder brother was more of a guardian and a mentor to her. She grew from a toddler, to her schooling years, to college where she was topper in academics as well as a star performer in the extra curricular activities – She holds a treasure of more than 2 dozen certificates so far in Elocution, Debate, Essay writing, Group dance, Personality campaign, Advertising campaign and the list goes on. She was the Cultural Secretary in the final year where she learnt about coordination, public relations, organizing cultural events for her college and finally entered into the corporate world. She had a bundle of angel friends which grew heaps and bounds each year. The Angels were all with her to take good care and to protect her from evils. The prince Angel by now had a family with his wife and a younger angel – who was the cutest in the family; he had become the “cherry on the cake” for the family.

The princess started her corporate career in 2003, being an Office Assistant at an Export firm; her angel boss soon realized her passion for work and gave her two promotions in the same year. She became Assistant to Director. She learnt and developed a lot in the job. Two and a half years down the line, she joined Blue Dart Express Limited, as an Assistant to Sr. VP – Marketing and Projects. Here she explored the creative element in her, while working on Events, Projects, Marketing Promotions etc. She was promoted to Assistant Manager and was given a special responsibility of looking into the pricing issue. Two years later, she joined Schneider Electric India Private Limited. Her angel boss here gave her a lot of challenging assignments, opportunities and she continued to grow. The best of the memories here were at the Outbound training where she had a chance to interact with the outstation teams, explore fun and adventure, realizing the importance of Teamwork. She also won the “Schneider Mumbai Idol” and “Best Dancer – Female” awards at the recent Diwali Bash 08. The princess was recently accoladed – PWMD (People Who Make The Difference) Award which was a Jewel in the Crown. As of now, the princess is 5 years 11 months old in the corporate world and is pursuing MBA in HR. The Angel family is all happy, closely bound and happily living and God is happy as well coz He has His representatives tackling the issues for Him. That was the end of the story and everyone lived happily ever after……….

What is a good job that concerns creative writing?

I enjoy reading and writing literature and what to pursue something involving that. However, I do not wish to be an author.

Job Oppurtunities for a Major in Creative Writing, Minor in Illustration?

I’ve been considering art school, the illustration or animation field. However, I hardly hear of any good job opportunities in the illustration field, and I’m not in a good location for animation. I figured I would settle with a major in creative writing. What sort of jobs are available for that pursuit, and am I wrong about my assumptions of the illustration and animation fields? Thanks. :)

Often when we get blocked it is because we need to write on a particular subject or for a particular assignment, and we may be feeling stressed about doing a good job. Try writing about anything else continuously for ten minutes or longer. Write something you plan to throw away or delete. This will get you started at writing, and you can gradually begin writing about your intended subject or assignment.

Sometimes we get stuck coming up with an idea for what to write about. This is understandable. There is a solution, however. Instead of coming up with a good idea for your topic, come up with twenty ideas that may or may not have any merit. Just rattle off possibilities. By coming up with twenty instead of one, you have no expectation for all of them to be good. After, you can choose the best among your selection.

Instead of your usual outline, try phrasing your jumping off points as questions. Just as in journalism, who, what, when, where, why, and how questions can lead you to what to write. It is easier to write a paragraph or a page in answer to a question than it is to write in response to a heading, so questions make wonderful outlines.

Imagine writing or talking to a particular person about your subject. Picture them as someone who isn’t intimidating to you, perhaps an old friend who knows nothing about your subject or who easily accepts what you do. You might even address an email to them and begin telling your story or writing about the subject to them.

Make it a habit to keep typing or writing without pauses. Resist stopping to research, reread, edit, or procrastinate. Facts can always be checked later, editing can be done later, and relaxation time will be more fun after you have gotten this done. Get something down first.

Always talk to yourself positively about writing. Think about what excites you or is interesting about the topic or story, and try to tell that to your audience.
