Questions

I am writing a short story for my english class and I want to make it interesting but I have no idea on what to write about!
I want it to be funny but not stupid! I really need to know. =]

I really admire people who use the technique of defamiliarization well. I find it really funny.

For example, I once called my friend who lives 600 miles away, and he said that he was busy at the moment, but that he’d call me back in an hour so we could ‘go for coffee.’ (Meaning, talk on the phone, lol.)

Are there some exercises I can do to use this technique more creatively?

Something like anime or Twilight would be great. Reading crappy fan fiction really brightens my day and I need some cheer. Thanks guys.

Oh, and by the way, by rediculously funny, I mean badly written (on purpose or not) or just funny. Just send me some links and stuff!

I am writing a screenplay. I have writers block, and stared at my computer for hours, and did a lot of rewriting…nothing. Anybody have anything happen to them that would make a good story? This would be for a scene to put in. Story is about relationships…anything may be helpful.

What are some key elements that I can focus on in the propsal to actually get the job. I am good at what I do as far as teaching poetry, but I have never written a proposal. I also can not afford to pay someone to write it for me. I figure if they see that my heart is in it, then maybe they will give me a chance.
Ronnie are you trying to be funny? If I sent you a proposal that rhymed would you take me seriously?
