I’m trying to focus mainly on character development, but learning to become a better writing in general is fine too. I haven’t really looked into books to improve my writing, so I don’t really know what’s out there. All suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I’ve just recently come to this idea, so it’s in no way concrete. I want to focus most of my effort on this novel because I know it’s difficult to get published as a first time author, and if I do well, I might make it into a career. Are there any published authors out there that can give me some hints or tips to send me in the right direction? What are my chances of getting published with a well written book? Is there any chance of me making money off of it?

I need help on starting my admissions essay for Penn State. On the app. there is only a little bit of room so it has to be short but i just cant think of how to start it haha….. the question is…. Focus on one activity, and discuss what you have gained from your involvement and how it would affect your student experience at college….. Like i want to focus on my sport but i just cant start it……ahhhhhh! writers block

I have really minimized distractions and still can’t get myself to focus on writing my novel. i want to finish, cos there are several others that i want to start and also finish.
Is it true that if i don’t feel inspired enough that i shudnt write anything down, can i still get it as good as it would’ve been without the inspiration. if not, how can i get the inspiration?

What I need to know:
Are there any GOOD sites out there that focus on Short story writing contests? Or really any kind of writing contest, save for Poetry. So. whatever you all can give, it’d most likely help my research. In case you were wondering, I’m hosting a writing contest for 1,500 High school kids. Yeah. Go figure.
