I haven’t read any of them, but I may some day. I saw three of the movies, but I’m really asking about the books.

I like stuff like Harry Potter and anything by Tamora Pierce, or even star trek books

I know that very technical stories like one of Jules Verne’s are science fiction, but what about stories of werewolves, etc. or stories of fictional worlds?

Does this count as science fiction? Does it count as fantasy fiction? Is fantasy fiction a subgroup of science fiction?

Ok im 16 and yes i do still read fantasy-fiction books..
some books that i read that are EXTREMELY good and highly recommended are novels by David Eddings…
He’s a good writer and i was about 15 when i first read The Redemption of Althalus…i really loved it and bought some more of his books and they were f**king awesome….
ok back to my question…
am i too old to be reading fantasy books?

I buy lots of books for nieces and nephews. Need recommendations of both recent and classical fiction for both teens and preteens. It would be especially helpful if you could give comments/summaries in addition to titles and authors. Not too violent and no sex. Also, NO FANTASY and NO SCIENCE FICTION because I’ve submitted separate questions for those. THANK YOU so much for your suggestions.

I’m something of a budding writer, and would like to join a group that actively critiques work of its members, or perhaps a group where there can be a writer co-op for a story of whatever…the genre is mainly fantasy, although i’m open to other stuff. Thanks for your help in advance.
