I need to write an essay on my fave song (spoken poetry) due friday. I asked my teacher today what the difference was, and she said that the tone was how the author felt about something, and mood was how they portrayed their feelings about it. But I still don’t really get that. How do I find tone in poetry? Was that explanation right? If not, please explain clearly and PROVIDE EXAMPLES. thanks so much!!

For the essay, I have to analyze the song and show how the author shows mood and tone. My song is “Missing” by Evanescence.

I’m doing a large research project centered around Mortimer Adler’s concept of Liberty (his essay on this concept can be found in the Great Books of the Western World). I’m looking for published, well-developed poems and short stories to use as resources for this project. Liberty is a huge topic, and I’m looking for works that cover various aspects of this theme.

i need to write an essay on why i want to pursue creative writing. so far i have this:

The reason why I want to pursue creative writing is fairly simple. When I write its like I am putting my feelings out of my brain and sharing it with the rest of the world. When ever I write I feel like I’m doing myself a favor and letting everyone read what I feel and think. I get to explain my many thoughts and beliefs on paper using any technique of writing and words.

Basically when refering to the title of the poem what do you do; do you underline? Place in speechmarks etc..
Do you to start a new paragraph indent or miss a line?
When quoting from the poem, what rules do you follow?
