Space tourism is all around the universe we used to wonder about. It is through wormholes that the military continues their obsession with space. A crew on board a star ship encounter a core platform devoid of life and in area of galaxy unexplored. The platform is human design and scorched with licks of plasma. The crew dock and attach transporting the platform with them. This is when they encounter energy synced creatures………..rest of plot not fleshed out……..what do people think?

Any ideas?
I need ideas on the look and horror felt when encountering these creatures made of pure synced energy.

I have heard that the winner in recent years was “The Core”. I found it very interesting, but it was pretty hard to believe, especially the metal that was developed to create their ship.
The one that stands out to me the most is the recent version of “The Day the Earth Stood Still”. Klaatu’s ability to jumpstart machines and people was stupid, and the nanotech that was used to “eat” everything is silly in the fact that if such creatures existed, how would you contain them and control them?
What is your choice for least science-based science fiction movie?

I am trying to find a science fiction short story that was about a scientist who created some small, very simple, fast living creatures. He then put them into a closed environment and made various changes to this environment–which caused them to evolve. He did this over a period of time, and his creatures became more and more complex and intelligent.
I would sure appreciate knowing the name of this story, and its author.

It’s sometimes quite difficult for me to focus on the minor scenes that establish a backgroud for the more action-packed portions of my story. I basically need to find a way to take myself away from my intense approach and develop the characters more. I am writing a fantasy based novel that contains a variety of creatures, monsters, and races of characters. Should i try to identify with just one main charater and express my thoughts through him/her or try to get into the minds of all characters which may or may not be intelligent enough to come across as portrayed.
