I’m really into books about the “what if” part of the Cold War, e.g what if the USSR had invaded American. Anybody now any good books?

Science Fiction about the Cold War?
Ok. so for school i have to read a science fiction book that shows the fear we had during the cold war. i only have like three weeks to read it and write an essay on it so i would like one that is relatively short and easy to understand. It has to be at least 150 pages long. I’m in 8th grade if you want to know. Do you recommend any books?

tell me some good books that are written during cold war that have to do with the author’s opinion on cold war (doesn’t matter if the author is pro-american or not) but have to be some fictions.
another book that i need have to be nonfiction that deals with american history after world war 1 up to the modern time.
