What type of Science fiction is hot now?
I am a novice writer. I like to science fiction and fiction in general, but science fiction is my forte. However, I want to get published BAD, I really want to have a lit agent consider my work. What kind of science fiction or fiction in general is in demand in the literary industry that agents really want to see good works of? Anyone who can answer my question with really helpful advice on what kind of sci-fi sells would really make my day. Thanks!

What is the best software out there for writing a novel?
One that includes tools for organizing characters, events, etc
Right at this moment, I dont give two hoots what the publishing companies want or what other writers do. I wasn’t asking for advice on how I should write. I just asked for the best program that combines word processor, character list, events list etc all in one program. If you don’t know of any, kindly move along and answer a question you DO know the answer to.

For novelists: How was writing your second novel different from writing your first novel?
I’ve written pleny of short stories and articles, and been published a number of times. I’ve also written many longer manuscripts, but none of them felt as exciting as the one I finished this past year. It’s the first that I really got involved in and loved, and the first that has attracted the attention of an agency. So, I consider it to be my first real book. While I edited it, I had wonderful ideas for a second book, but now that I’m writing it, all I can do is compare it to the first and worry that it won’t be as good. I’ve heard that writers have a hard time with second books, and I’d like some advice. What were your experiences, and what kept you going?
Please don’t answer this like the first person. It says “for novelists.” If you aren’t one, go somewhere else.

Ah! No! I just got writers Block?
Okay, so I’m 79 (document word) pages into my story and BAM! Writers block engulfed me!!!! The main person just got kidnaped, and I couldn’t think of anyway to keep the story going from her POV, so I switched it to the second main person, and that’s when it hit me. I couldn’t write more then nine pages… I know once I get started I’m going to be able to write for hours nonstop but I can’t seem to start…. any advice? I’ve tried everything I can think of…. Thanks!
I’ve already described the kidnapping, but what after the kidnapping? I mean sure they try and kill her, but she isn’t the right age yet, she needs to be two weeks older, but in that time the other people in my story realize that she is gone and go to save her… But will they have enough time to save her? Or, what awaits them when they get there? Is there going to be a war? Idk… (haha, I lied, I do know there will be one) But I can’t think of what to write!! Like, I know what I want to write, I just don’t know how to write it, and whenever i go to write it down I forget…. Anyway, I’m going for a short walk around the block, see if that helps, thanks!
cbhovila Thanks for the advice! Your game sounds fun. But, I already have a person that knows her - her mom. She thinks that her mom is dead though… Not very creative but it was the best I could do.
