The Biblical Solomon story mentioned above isn't a bad idea for a start. Take this story, or any other story you're familiar with, and rewrite it into your own words, maybe change the ending, or change the setting, but create some twist that makes the story your own. (Oh, be sure if you do take the idea from another story it's not copyrighted. A biblical story is free to use, as is Shakespeare, and many other classic stories, but if you took characters from Harry Potter you'd be infringing on intellectual property.) Two women were fighting over a baby or something, and they went to the king to solve it.
