Really good historical fiction, preferably pioneer?
I love reading historical fiction books, especially about the pioneers, but any type I love. Any suggestions?

They are not pioneer, but Gore Vidal wrote some great Historical Fiction novels and many are well worth reading.
Good luck.
(I too like this genre of book)

A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens. Wonderful plot and characters, set during the French Revolution.

Maybe you could try reading a couple of books by the Native American Sherman Alexie…he’s apparently from a West Coast tribe so don’t expect dancing with wolves– expect being the wolf. lol– Suggest a book of short stories called “The Toughest Indian in the World.” Then “Reservation Blues,” if you feel like a little touch of more ‘unreal.’ Okay!

True women by Janice Woods Windle..
Great book (great movie as well)
the book actually was written about the authors ancestors.. based on stories told through the generations which for the most part she pieced together historically as well.. (went through records and such ).. Beautifully written.
