I don’t have any non-fiction recommendations, but if you like mystery, I think you should read something by Ted Dekker. His books are so suspensful I started one and couldn’t put it down until I had finished. It’s nice to read books like that.

There are a number of good true crime books out there.

A classic is Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood.

Helter Skelter by Vincent Buglosi kept me turning pages and then sitting up at night after finishing.

Ann Rule does a good job of true crime writing, and has a lot to choose from. One of her recent books is about the Green River Murders– Green River, Running Red is the title. Also Greg Olsen is good. They both have the knack of making you want to read more even if you know how it turns out.

    Happy reading!

‘In Cold Blood’ (about the Clutter family murders–you know about it if you’ve seen ‘Capote’) started the true-crime genre; ‘The Executioner’s Song’ (about Gary Gilmore) and ‘Helter-Skelter’ (about the Manson Family) are standouts of the genre.

Try the TRUE CRIME section of your bookstore.

Authors like John Douglas, Ann Rule, etc. There’s also a brand new one by Douglas Preston called THE MONSTER OF FLORENCE.
