is it wise to add a little fantasy in a fact and fiction novel?
hi, my story is based on actual events, but i added a little fiction. i also have some chapters on fantasy: like a character befriending a ghost. do you think this would make for a good novel?
i’s it okay to write about an event someone has already covered such as war? i’ve read a lot of stories about the subject of my novel: only theirs was a memoir. mine has fictitious events added to it, is this okay?

It sounds quite interesting – on the other hand, make sure you’re not trying to convince the reader that the ghost could exist in a factual account of events. Make it pretty clear it’s a fantasy novel, if not entirely fantastical.

It’s OK to write about something someone else has already written about – if not, there would only be one book about WWII, one vampire novel, etc. Multiple perspectives is good.
However, so long as you make it clear that your book is fiction, and only inspired by the events, there should be no problem with adding something like a ghost.
