Is Harry Potter fan fiction still popular?

I admit it I was a big fan fiction lover once

But I have been out of the loop for about a year

So I’m wondering is it still a big thing on the net or has it stopped/slowed down now that the books have finished?

YES !!! It may slow down, but there always be generations of children to pass it down.

It definitely hasn’t stopped. It may have slowed just a bit, though. After and before book 7 was released, there were massive amounts of stories being written predicting what will happen in book 7 or what will happen after, with the “new generation” and all that.
I don’t write Harry Potter fanfic, but I do browse through stories from time to time. It’s still popular, but I don’t think there is a story being submitted every few seconds, like before.

When I finished the last book, I haven’t been able to look at anything HP related at all. I got to emotional! But here lately I’ve been looking for old fanfics I read before the series finished. (I can’t find this one story.) I’VE never written anything, nor have I looked for new fics to read.

No i dont think so, I’ve joined one site and my first chapter sgould be up by monday or maybe later since monday is the easter hols. It’s about Harry’s little sister, her name is Miri and she gets bulimia and stuff like that but im hoping it’ll turn out pretty funny although it’s more of a drama and coming of age story.

It’s slowed down a little, but I would say that it is still going pretty strong. Some writers incorporate JK’s canon but others ignore it completely… many say “EWE” (epilogue, what epilogue?) in order to go in different directions. I’m still reading new stories everyday!
