India-class submarines?

I’m currently writing my sixth military fiction book and I need information about the India-class diesel submarines built by the Soviets. I can’t find much information on GlobalSecurity or FAS.org. Any submariners out there who can give me some good information? If it makes a difference, I specialize in writing about submarine warfare.
Note: I’ve read many Tom Clancy novels. The Indias aren’t featured. Wikipedia has basically the same information that I already have.

did you happen to do a wikpedia search? try tom clancey to see if you can find some info from him or one of his sources

India currently uses Foxtrot III and Kilo Class Diesels built by Russia.
I’ll give you the link to a good site, but nothing I know from my grey matter, something about pound-me-in-the-a*s prison for giving away secrets! lol

This is the main open source page I use for basic stuff on stuff I’m curious about while at home.

The India-class submarines, of which there were two, were scrapped in1995 (see ref 1). They were equipped to perform rescue operations for damaged submarines (ref 2). There are some good photos available (see ref 3).

Submariner, there’s nothing in OpSec about India class boats that you can’t give out. They’re old and useless. They’re noisy and obsolete. They’re not a threat to our national security. Never were. No, you’re not supposed to know this stuff off the top of your head. If you were, you’re head would be so full of frivilous stuff, you wouldn’t be able to do your job.
