I’m having WRITERS BLOCK. (Please read details)?
I’ve worked on the characters, planned out the chapters, and have most of the sorry line finished (only a few minor details to work through). I’m ready to start writing, but I just can’t get it started! I need a little push to get me going. Does anyone have any advice?
All advice and suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance for your help.
***story line, not sorry line.
Opps!

What i do is start anywhere. Just…write. Any scene, any characters, anything. It really helps. Then fill in the spaces after you’ve got the scenes done.
Good luck!

maybe read back through everything you have down and think of the best possible way to start the whole story. like the person starting out in the conflict but goes back through everything that hapened up to that point or start from the beginning with someone talking. there are many possible ways.

Go into a room alone. Turn off the TV, Radio, etc. Then grab a piece of paper or open a blank document page. Then just take each element and brainstorm on the different ways you could reach the conclusion or the different ways you come build the character. Expand, Expand, Expand.
It is better to have too much information rather than too little information.

I have the same problem whenever I write! First of all don’t over think it because when I do that I question myself in what I want to write. So my advice is to step back from it for a couple of minutes and focus on what you want the reader to know first, what is most important to you and what you would want to know to get you into the story. Hopefully it just flows from there!

Music… Music is an art writing is an art, let your creative juices flow around, try listening to your favourite music whilst writing

The only real way to get over writer’s block is to sit your bum down in a chair and start writing.
There are some who say that writer’s block is your mind trying to tell you that something isn’t quite right yet, so I would also recommend going over your story again and making sure all of the pieces of the puzzle are in place. But it seems like you’re off to a good start, so really, all you need to do is sit down and make yourself write. Once you manage a sentence or a paragraph, hopefully it’ll start to flow from there.
Just remember, start at the last possible moment. That could also be hindering you – you don’t want to start your story too early. Jump right on into the action and explain any backstory along the way in subtle ways that don’t stop the action. Start at an interesting point rather than dumping all of the history and backstory of the characters in the beginning, and you may find it easier to really get going.
And, most importantly, for a first draft, don’t worry about everything being perfect. That’s what editing’s for. Don’t go back and edit as you’re writing or second-guess everything you write down – you’ll drive yourself crazy.
Best of luck to you!

What you have is not writer’s block. It is writer’s apathy. You already know what you want to write, you’re just not feeling motivated enough to do it. You keep finding excuses not to sit down and write. You keep telling yourself you’ll start tomorrow.
Tomorrow never comes.
Put aside one hour of the day for writing. You need to build up the discipline needed to do this. Once you start, do not slack off. You can do this.
The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. Why don’t you take that first step right now?
I know what I am talking about. I used to be the same way.
