I need information about Franklin high school in Portland, Oregon for a novel I’m writing?

I’m having my main character live in portland, Oregon and I need some information about Franklin High School. I’d prefer the information to be from people who have attended the school because I feel that google doesn’t give me enough insight. I would like as much information as possible. Thanks!

I went to Franklin,…but I graduated in the 80’s…The house on the corner of woodward and 54th was where allot of the smokers hung out. There was a group of kids that hung out on “the hill” and then the “kids on Woodward”….some of us just tried to get through the school day. It was a time where the last day of school you would take everything out of your locker and toss it in the air in celebration of summer!…..Everyone was ecstatic and hoot and hollard all the way out of the building…that was a good time!

Cleveland HS was always our rival and would spray apint our Benjamin Statue by the football field….i wonder if they still do that…

Franklin is sketch. sketchy kids, sketchy neighborhood, sketchy building. Jesuit High school was for the rich snobs, but Go Saders regardless.
Why franklin if you know nothing about it?

franklin is full of diversity, but yeah, you can’t rely on the websites, even the school’s website (i graduated from franklin 2 yrs ago)…there were a lot of clubs…a lot of unneccesary clubs…i dnt know if they still had it, but they had a comic book club, a computer gaming club, etc…these “clubs” had maybe 10 ppl in them…lol!…i had some good teachers and bad ones…the bad ones being “the coaches” who would refuse to teach things needed for college…i can tell you everything about the sports they coached and nothing about the subject they were supposed to be teaching…i say this b/c franklin is supposedly known for its high academic standards, when in reality, these coaches give their athletes A’s and B’s automatically…some athletes don’t have to work like i had to…other than that little hint of corruption, the school was all in all great…i was a bit of a loner..still am…but you had your jocks, a few goths, gay & lesbians, religious ppl, a few asians, several indians, etc…your everyday school cliches.

oh..the year after i graduated, i hear this nasty rumor that a teacher from franklin (dnt know who b/c he didnt teach me) was a having a “thing” with a female student! he was fired! which was funny, but @ the same time weird b/c he was young, like late 20s, no older than 30 and the girl was a senior…neway, yeah…the food at franklin was good, except for their red meat! every smart franklin student knows to never EVER eat the red meat…something about it…its got this foul taste! nobody ate the red meat.

oh, and since we were all broke high school students, we generally just hung out at each other’s houses…watching movies, & stuff…most of our parents are fairly liberal and they trusted us, so we would even have guy and girl sleep overs (no orgies!)…
